The United Arab Emirates lies on the eastern side of the Arabian Peninsula , with the coastlines of the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman with a total area, including 200 islands of 83,300 square kilometres , inhabited by 2,38 million people . The most of its terrain consists of mountains or deserts , which was the main cause for its people living on the coastal cities or some in-land oasis like Al Ain , Al Dhaid and Liwa . The people of UAE are Arabs with history and culture dating back to at least 6,600 years. UAE is one of the fastest growing countries in the world and the major economic force in the region. The Federation of UAE was in (2nd/December/1971)when the Seven Emirates ,Abu-Dhabi , Dubai , Sharjah , Ajman , Ras Al Khaimah ,Al Fujairah and Umm Al Qaiwain united Since then, the people of the UAE had achieved progress in all aspects of life in a record time and pace.
